About InnerMap

Research-backed tools
for the ADHD brain.

InnerMap is a self-discovery company for adults who recognize ADHD patterns in themselves. Our methodology is grounded in modern adult ADHD phenotype research, executive function theory, and rejection sensitivity dysphoria research, not the child-derived DSM categories that miss the way adult ADHD actually presents.

Our mission

Build the structured second look people deserve.

Adult ADHD is consistently under-recognized, late-diagnosed, and badly served by tools built around how children present. Most adults arrive at the suspicion through years of personal pattern recognition: a thread, a video, a friend's offhand comment, a moment when a description finally fits. Then they hit a wall.

The next step is supposed to be a clinician. But clinicians are expensive, waitlisted by months, and impossible to choose well without first knowing what you are looking for. Many adults stall right there, halfway between suspecting and knowing, with no structured way to go further on their own.

InnerMap exists for that gap. We build instruments, reports, and tools that help adults map their own wiring with rigor, not to replace a clinician, but to walk into one prepared, or to take the first informed actions on their own while they wait.

Methodology

What our work is grounded in.

Every InnerMap instrument is informed by four research areas. We do not invent psychometric categories. We translate established adult ADHD research into self-discovery tools that adults can actually use.

01

Adult ADHD Phenotype Research

Modern research identifies multiple functional phenotype clusters of adult ADHD beyond the DSM categories of inattentive, hyperactive, and combined. Our six-archetype model maps to functional subtypes that describe how ADHD shows up in adult life, not how it was first observed in children.

02

Executive Function Theory

Research on working memory, task initiation, time perception, and cognitive flexibility as core ADHD challenges. Executive function is one of the six categories every InnerMap assessment measures, and is the strongest predictor of daily functional impairment in adults.

03

Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria

The intense emotional response to perceived rejection or criticism that affects many ADHD adults but is rarely included in standard screening tools. RSD is one of the most under-measured features of adult ADHD, and one of the most predictive of relationship and career patterns. We measure it directly.

04

ADHD Masking and Time Blindness

Studies on how high-functioning ADHD adults develop sophisticated compensation strategies that hide their internal struggles, and how the ADHD brain experiences time differently, leading to chronic underestimation, missed deadlines, and procrastination. Both are central to several of our six archetypes.

How we work

Six principles we operate by.

These shape every assessment, report, and article we ship.

01

Recognition before diagnosis.

Our instruments are built for the moment between suspecting and knowing. We are not a substitute for a clinician. We are the structured second look that helps you walk into one prepared, with language for what you are experiencing and a record of the patterns you have noticed.

02

Functional, not diagnostic.

We measure how your wiring shows up in daily adult life, work, relationships, focus, energy, emotion. We do not measure your childhood, and we do not produce a DSM label. Our six archetypes are functional patterns, not clinical categories.

03

Specific over generic.

Generic productivity advice fails ADHD adults at the first real friction. Every strategy we give you is conditioned on your specific archetype and score profile. The Hyperfocus Engine and the Executive Chaos need fundamentally different tools, and we treat them that way.

04

Identity-affirming language.

We do not write about ADHD as a deficit. We write about it as a wiring pattern with strengths and failure modes that need different scaffolding than the default world provides. The shame story is already in the room. Our job is to give you a better one to operate from.

05

Refundable when we miss.

If a report does not feel useful or accurate, we refund it within 14 days, no questions asked. We would rather give your money back than have you feel unseen by a tool that is supposed to help. This is a real policy, not a negotiation.

06

Privacy as default.

Your assessment answers are never sold, never shared, and never used to train external models. Personal report URLs are blocked from search engines and AI crawlers by default. We collect what we need to deliver your report and to follow up if you ask us to.

What InnerMap is and isn't.

Clear boundaries are how we earn the trust this work requires. Here is exactly what we do and what we deliberately do not do.

What we do

  • Build research-informed self-discovery instruments for adults
  • Measure functional ADHD patterns across six categories
  • Map results to one of six archetypes with personalized reports
  • Generate dynamic 30-day action plans tied to specific score profiles
  • Publish long-form journalism on the recognition phase of adult ADHD
  • Refund anyone who does not find the work useful, within 14 days

What we deliberately do not do

  • Diagnose ADHD or any other clinical condition
  • Replace evaluation by a licensed healthcare professional
  • Prescribe medication, therapy, or treatment of any kind
  • Sell, share, or train external models on your assessment data
  • Make recovery, cure, or normalization claims
  • Target children or adolescents, we work with adults only

The Synapsly ADHD Profile and all InnerMap instruments are self-discovery tools, not clinical diagnostic instruments. Formal ADHD diagnosis requires evaluation by a licensed healthcare professional. Our work is for personal insight and should not replace professional medical advice.
